DECLARE is a product transparency label that provides a clear, easily accessible declaration about the materials and ingredients used in a product, as well as its environmental impact. It is part of the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), which aims to support the creation of healthy, sustainable environments transparency and accountability in product sourcing and manufacturing. DECLARE provides consumers, designers, and builders with the information needed to make informed choices about the products they use, helping them achieve healthier, more sustainable built environments.

Declare labels can be separated into three types:

Declared: a product with a declared label have made all materials used in their product accessible information for consumers so they can make informed choices, but may have products that are hazardous or proprietary.

LBC red list approved: a product with this certification has made all material components accessible to 0.1wt%, and have no hazardous ingredients included without an applicable exemption.

LBC red list compliant: this product has made all material components accessible to 0.1wt%, and has 0.0wt% hazardous chemicals.

Envirospec’s mission is to provide a trusted certification program that helps consumers, builders, and professionals identify and choose products that meet high standards for environmental sustainability. Being listed with Envirospec gives Superior Doors a stamp of approval from an independent, trusted organization. Products listed on Envirospec are often recognized by green building certification programs, such as Green Star or Homestar in New Zealand.
