Superior Doors’ Classic36 has been one of New Zealand’s most popular doors for decades for a reason: outstanding quality at a great price. It is the industry work horse. The go to product for New Zealanders looking for performance, without the cost, for their entry level builds.
At the heart of every Classic36 sits Superior Doors’ unique RibCore polystyrene core, delivering significantly higher thermal performance and impact resistance over traditional paper honeycomb core alternatives.
Paint gloss levels of matte, or low sheen (not to exceed 20%)
Very light colours (Light Reflectance Value of at least 70%).
Benefits of Superior Doors’ Classic36 with RibCore over honeycomb paper core alternatives
Thermal Performance: The Classic36 keeps your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. It’s Ribcore heart has 4x the thermal insulation of a paper honeycomb core. With an R-Value of 0.78 the Classic36 fully complies with the H1 thermal specifications meaning it can be used as part of the thermal envelope anywhere in New Zealand.
Impact Resistance: The Classic36 can take a hit and keep working. It’s RibCore core has approximately 20x more core to skin lamination than paper honeycomb core alternatives. This dramatic increase in surface lamination gives the Classic36 the strength and resilience to withstand the knocks of everyday life.
There really is no comparison between Superior Doors’ Classic36 and the other entry level doors, perfectly capturing Superior Doors’ ethos of “stronger, flatter, warmer”.
Built around Superior Doors’ exclusive high-performance RibCore polystyrene core, the Classic 36 is paired with 3mm UV pre sealed MDF door skins, to achieve a convenient true 36mm thickness.
Like all doors available in the New Zealand market with a 3mm door skin, there are some limitations that need to be considered when specifying the Classic36. Doors are manufactured using New Zealand-sourced natural materials like pine and MDF. Even with the exacting manufacturing tolerances Superior Doors is renowned for, these natural materials will grow and shrink with their environment. A 3mm door skin will mask most of this natural variation, however some substrate show through may be expected when specifying a 3mm door skin.
The Classic36 is not designed or manufactured for higher gloss paints, spray finishes or darker colours, as this will increase the potential post-manufacturing variation in substrates to show through, and therefore will not be covered by the Superior Doors Limited warranty.
